In order to know how old God is, we need to get down to the basics. What are the scriptures telling us about Him? How do people interpret these scriptures?

Let’s take a closer look at some of the key verses that deal with this topic and see what conclusions can be drawn.

As Christians, it’s important for us to have an understanding of who God is and how old He is in relationship to creation. This will help us better understand His character and attributes.

Who is God (Understanding The Trinity)?

How Old is God

In order to understand how old God is, we need to have a basic understanding of who He is.

God is the one true and living God. He is the creator of all things (Genesis 1:1 Old Testament). God is eternal, which means that He has no beginning and no end (Psalm 90:2). He is also holy, just, and good (1 Peter 1:16)

God is a Trinity, which means that He is three persons in one. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all God. They are three equally divine “Persons” who share the one divine “essence” or nature.

The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, but they are not three Gods. They are one God.

It can be hard to fully comprehend and understand this, but that’s okay. Even some of the early Church Fathers had trouble wrapping their minds around this concept.

This is why the doctrine of the Trinity is considered to be a mystery. It’s something that we can’t fully understand with our human minds, but we can know and believe it by faith.

Bible Verses About God’s Age.

Bible Verses About God's Age

Now that we have a basic understanding of who God is, let’s take a look at some of the key scriptures that tell us about His age.

1. Genesis 1:1-2

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

We see from Genesis that God is the creator of all things. He created the heavens and the earth. This would obviously include time itself.

From this, we can conclude that God is older than creation itself. He is not subject to time like we are, which means He is eternal.

2. Psalm 90:2

“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”

This verse is telling us that God has always existed. We, humans, cannot fathom what it would be like to live outside of time, but that is exactly what God has done. He has always existed, and He will always exist.

3. Revelation 1:8

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

In this verse, God is telling us that He is the Alpha and Omega. This is another way of saying that He is the beginning and the end. He is the first and the last.

This would obviously mean that He is older than creation itself, as He existed before it. Alpha in the greek alphabet is the first letter, and omega is the last, so this is another way of saying that He is eternal.

4. John 1:1-2

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”

This verse describes Jesus as the Logos or Word. It tells us that He was with God in the beginning and that He is God. He is not separated from the Father or the Holy Spirit but is one with Them.

5. Hebrews 1:10-12

“And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like a cloak you will roll them up, and like a garment, they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years have no end.”

In this passage, we see that the writer of Hebrews is quoting from Psalm 102. This Psalm says that the Lord laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning and that His years have no end.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Old is God - FAQs

How Old is Jesus Right Now?

The eternal question of how old Jesus is right now can be answered in a number of ways. One way to approach this question is to consider the nature of the Trinity. As a unity of three Persons in one God, the Trinity is eternal.

This means that Jesus, as one Person of the Trinity, has always existed. Another way to think about this question is to consider the Incarnation. When Jesus became human, He entered time. However, His divinity was not limited by His human nature.

As a result, Jesus continues to exist outside of time even as He exists within time. This means that, although He has a human age, He is not bound by the constraints of time in the same way that we are.

Ultimately, how old Jesus is right now is something that we may never fully understand. However, it is clear that He exists both within and outside of time, and His age is not limited by our human understanding of time.

How Old is Adam and Eve?

The Bible does not give a specific age for either Adam or Eve when they were created. However, we do know that Adam lived for 930 years (Genesis 5:5).

We will never know the exact age of Adam and Eve when they were created, but we do know that they were created as adults. This is evident from the fact that they were able to reproduce soon after they were created (Genesis 1:28).

Final Thoughts

The Bible is clear that God is eternal, without beginning or end. He has always existed and will always exist. As humans, it’s impossible for us to understand everything about God, including his age.

We hope this article has helped to shed some light on the question of how old is God. Although we will never fully understand everything about Him, we can trust that He is sovereign and knows what is best for us.
